We have been at the hotel for six nights now. Yesterday was certainly exciting. We had lots of visitors! Visitors, you ask? Didn’t you guys just move here? Who does your Mom know? Well, the people visiting were the hotel maintenance crew and one of the maids. The first night we arrived, Dad put his suits and dress shirts in the closet and the hanging rod collapsed.
Ha ha, oooops. Dad called the front desk and they immediately sent some guys to fix the closet. Dad put his work clothes in the closet again. Guess what happened? The closet collapsed again! This was Mom’s solution:
Mom “borrowed” one of the hotel luggage trolley things to hang up Dad’s clothes! Those things looked quite sturdy and the hotel had more than one. But we couldn’t borrow that thing forever. Dad had to go to Bed, Bath and Beyond and buy a portable hanging closet. Never mind the fact that Mom already has two in storage and our new house will have lots of closets. What are we going to do with three of those things at our new house?! Moving is sure expensive! I’m a little worried about what is happening to my doggie treats and toys allowance fund. Grrrr!
I’m not sure if this portable closet will last six weeks. The first night, it either fell towards the desk or the couch. It would not stand up straight and it made Mom laugh! Dad had to place heavy suitcases or boxes on the bottom to make it less like the leaning tower of Pisa.
Mom finally had the courage to tell the front desk that the closet collapsed again. It took four guys and two sessions (morning and afternoon) to fix it. The rods ripped big holes in the wall the second time the closet collapsed. They had to put the nails in a completely different place. Perhaps putting nails into empty drywall wasn’t such a good idea in the first place? I heard Dad tell Mom that finding a wood beam inside the wall might work better. I hope the maintenance guys did that or the next hotel guest will have the same adventure/saga.
In between all that excitement, the maid came for room service. We definitely had a lot of visitors yesterday! Mom and I didn’t really get to spend much time in our room. Today will be a day of rest INSIDE our room, lol!
I hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday! Ta ta for now!
XOXO
